remember this?

Remember this?

I finished all the french knots and love how it turned out-I love when things are a little wonky-now I just have to sew it into a doll blanket.

tuesday morning

I discovered these tomato plants while walking through the city.

I love it that these plants can grow so good in such an unusual place.

What do you do with 2 squirrley girls when you only have $2.50 in your purse?
You head over to your local PANADERIA .

Here is a shot Pearl took inside-I love it!!!

2 happy customers, and for under $2.00

thanks Pearl for all of the great photos!!!

the needles are back

I decided to knit in the heat of summer-couln't resist when I saw this pattern.
Here is my littlest niece Ava modeling it for you.

You can find the pattern here-I made with Rowan All Seasons Cotton.
(easy, fast knit-I started it yesterday and finished it this afternoon)

Pearl once again snatched up my digital camera ran around the room taking pictures-I love this picture she took of us.
(Mattie has no idea who the Power Rangers are.. she just wanted the pink one.)

Mama and her pink power ranger- a little tired-but that's us!!!

we're back with pictures

It basically was 3 weeks of glorious time in the country with my girls, grandma, and a few close friends.

HEre are a few highlights

riding around in our golf cart pretending to be pirates

(making mud pies with friends)-clean up is easy with a garden hose!!

(catching beautiful goldfish with  nets-Yes, we had to bring some home)

holding the baby robin the boys found and raised until it could fly away

There was also
grilled food
camp fires
and so much more-I am so lucky to be going back in less then a month

little boxes of matches

I decided to decoupage some little boxes of matches.
I think they look really cute and both sides are different.

this is my last week to get ready for the craft fair and I am running out of time.

owl and the alphabet

Finally the softie that I made for the swap is in the mail.

My crooked little owl was sent to
Donielle today.
In the process of making the owl, my sewing machine broke and I wanted to throw the whole thing in the garbage, but I decided just to finish it and send it on it's way.  Now I think she looks kinda cute in this picture.

This was my very first softie/original pattern and you can tell when you look closely-that I am indeed a beginner at sewing.

I am going to start a summer Alphabet Along over at
Over the summer I want to make a craft, bake a recipe,  read a book , or just take a photo for every letter in the alphabet.
Anyone interested?
I think this could be really fun ( you don't have to have kids to do this either)
Let me know and I will add you to the alphabet Along  list and hopefully you can share your photos with us.

Until then, I am going to brainstorm some "A" ideas
maybe I was really inspired by a wise old owl.
